You are looking at a gorgeous DW Collectors Exotic Rotary Cherry over Maple snare with a VLT shell configuration. So there is no confusion, Rotary Cherry is an exotic finish option from the factory. It is not a cherry snare. The natural to dark fade has a classic look and really shows off the wood grain. It's beautiful. I've stared at it a lot... As you'd expect it has the magnetic throw off and three position butt plate. It has only been in my climate controlled drum room and played just enough to gently mark up it's original DW head, the only head that has ever been on it.
I bought my kit from Chris from the Drum Shop of Maine. I special ordered a matching 13x7 snare for the kit and didn't buy this snare, that was the matching original snare. A year later I decided I should buy the snare that was made for the kit. It sat in a box waiting for me in Chris' back room. Safe and sound(less). It is a great snare but after playing it I decided it's tone was in the same zone as my other matching snare. I'm getting a bell brass one so that I have a great metal snare too...
The snare will be double boxed and sent safely to your home. The way it came to mine... It's an awesome snare. I'm sure you'll agree!
