Estimated price for orientation: 5 000 $
Category: Other Vintage Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Gerard Deleplanque Exact Year: 1776
Exceptionally rare instrument, made by Gerard J Deleplanque, a Luthier, from Lille. France. Most of the instruments made by this maker are already accounted for. This one has been in my possession for over 35 years. It has been lovingly restored but still shows the patina and characters of age. The original pegs are also with it. This is a piece for a music devotee, it is in in fine conditon given the age. There are very few of his instruments still in existence. One similar in the Museum of the University of Leipzig. Gerard Deleplanque worked from 1754 to 1790 at Lille. He was an excellent maker and made guitars as well as violins. One example, dated 1768, is in the Paris Conservatoire CollectionIt will not be sent to anywhere without insurance, so that will be added at the end of the sale. It has no case but a well padded guitar case will be provided for shipping. Impossible to quote here as nothing will be correct as I do not yet have the case to measure. Frankly, if someone is serious about this instrument and the desire to own it, then I think post is not a problem. This will be sent by courier within Australia.
