Description
Exact Year: 1967 Series: Original
Model: Vintage Brand: Gretsch

Genuine vintage 1967-68 Gretsch 6119 Chet Atkins Tennessean guitar, original and in excellent condition -- all at a great price! With original case, strap, tags, and more. This guitar is one sweet rock-a-billy gem. Still gleaming almost a half-century after it left the Brooklyn factory. Original and correct from the bottom strap-pin to the Bigsby vibrato, the gold badge on the headstock, and everywhere in between. Roller bridge, “G”-arrow knobs, twin humbucking HiLoTron pick-ups, and a wonderful-playing fat neck. Only a real Gretsch will give you that down-home twang that players from Brian Setzer to George Harrison to Chet himself all raved about. Plug this it into your favorite amp and you’ll know exactly what I mean. Check out the guitar’s body -- only a few hard-to-see scratches keep it from mint. Even better, it has hardly any of the usual binding issues you see on others. And the little it does have has been totally stabilized so no longer an issue (see the close-ups). Also, you get two correct pickguards, two heel-caps, and an extra silver pick-up bezel -- the originals in the case pocket for safety, and the repros on the guitar (the original guard has a small crack, by a screw hole, ditto on one pick-up bezel). Incredibly clean, the guitar is complete with original silver-grey case. You also get -- and this is rare -- the original February 10,1969 invoice from Gretsch to the dealer, plus all the tags and cards you see in the photos, including original ‘68 Gretsch color catalog, and a rare 60’s Gretsch flyer showing this Tennessean model and lots more. $2,300 obo
