I am offering for sale a Fender Starmaster combo organ. According to my research, this is one of the rarest instruments ever produced by Fender. This was produced by an Italian company and included in a Fender catalog, but very few ever sold. The original price at the time of production was $795. There are thought to be around 40 in existence. I found this at an estate auction. I searched the other lots for the missing pieces but was unable to locate anything else. The owner was not present so I was unable to inquire further regarding the history of this particular example. I have not attempted to even plug it in as I am nervous about messing up the electronics. There appears to be a fuse or two missing. I removed the plastic cover to take several photos of the electronics within as you can see. I did not find any rust or significant deterioration to any of the internal components. I'm sure it needs some work to be back in working order, but it doesn't look like a lost cause by any means. The keys all have a nice resistance as do all the switches along the top of the organ. I was able to flip all switches and turn all knobs with no issues. The "S" from the nameplate was lost at some point. The plastic cover for the electronics within has a few small dings but no cracks or significant issues. The fiberglass shell includes the original lid. There are some small chips along the edges but the shell has no cracks or major damage. The hinges and locks show a small amount of rust but are perfectly functional. I am able to secure the lid and carry the organ by its handle without any issues. Overall, this organ seems to be in sturdy condition. A perfect piece for restoration.
