Please read thoroughly!Single cutaway late 50's or early 60's Melody Maker. Was routed for mini-humbuckers when I bought it in 1981. Now has Harmonic Design VP-90's. There is a separate pickguard for original Melody Maker pickups which were custom re-wound by Lindy Fralin. Receipt included for documentation. The body has marks as you would expect for a much used 59-61' guitar but nothing unsightly. The frets are well worn but fully playable. I have .009's on this with a .10 on the low E and there are no problems with action between 3/64 and 4/64's at 12th fret. If you insist on bending like SRV this won't be the guitar for you. Many players will likely want to re-fret one day. At this price you can afford to do so. It is pretty heavy for it's body thickness and It gets a nice, full sound. The Vp-90's cost $110 each alone. The Fralin pickup re-wind was costly as well. Comes with road worn hard case and new tone and volume knobs. This is not a show piece but a bad little axe with two really fine sets of pickups to switch out whenever you feel like it. Grover tuners. Original bridge. Bourns pots and phase switch for the Peter Green effect in the middle.
