Kills me to sell this but my loss is your gain. This has been my main gigging amp and a rock-solid performer for a few years. But the gigs I'm getting mean i need to run direct on many gigs and need to sell this to buy a new modeling processor. The power amp was also altered to mirror that of the IIC+.The description is a good one. it is an aggressive amp. I used it with an 8-piece horn band and never set the master volume for rhythm channels higher than 2. THis one has a few cool extras. First, amp guru Carl Popyk did the R2 modification for me. This replaces the Direct Out level control on the back panel with a volume control for the 2nd rhythm channel. It still share the tone stack with R1, but now you get separate volume controls for the clean and dirty rhythm channels. It makes this particular Boogie Mark III a much more useful gigging amp. Also, when i bought it, I had Tony Mara at Thermal Relief Designs in Las Vegas, do a full cleaning and retube and general tune up. As part of that, he remounted the cooling fan using rubber washers which greatly cuts down on the fan noise when the amp is idle.Finish is stained wood but this is not one of the hardwood models. I bought it this way 7 years ago. It looks like a previous owner stripped the Tolex and stained the wood. You can still see in the picture of the back some bits of that tolex under the screws. Only other modification is that the top handle has been replaced with a steel handle If you know these amps, you know they are heavy and when both the original and a replacement handle failed, I went with the steel one. Again, this is a gigging amp. The screw holes for the original handle are still visible. You can see them as light spots in the top on the front view photos. The plastic handle for the lowest graphic EQ channel is missing.
