It is widely acknowledged that 2014 was the last relatively ‘normal’ year of production for Gibson before they went into freefall with the hugely unpopular 2015 range with auto tuners, brass nuts, wide necks etc etc This is my beautiful Les Paul Standard Plus (an AAAA flamed top upgrade over the standard Standard) in stunning Heritage Cherry Sunburst Perimeter finish and comes complete with tan hard case and all case candy. The guitar is in immaculate condition, sounds wonderful and is ready to be played. I bought this in the same used condition from Coda Music last year and have treat it like a baby since, such that you’ll struggle to find a better example In true Gibson fashion there are one of two cosmetic imperfections, mainly on the top edge of the headstock, and one on the rear bout of the body. They are all beneath the nitrocellulose lacquer top coat however, so certainly not caused through use of the guitar; none of them can be seen from the front, and do not detract from what is a drop dead gorgeous Les Paul The case has one or two superficial nicks from being transported around, but nothing of any significance at all I’ve got the guitar set up presently with a low action and 10 gauge strings, and it stays in tune wonderfully thanks to the locking Grover machineheads, which also make changing strings a total breeze If you are on the hunt for a Les Paul style guitar, you probably won’t need me to explain what great value this is compared to most Les Pauls nowadays, particularly with pricing on the increase every year due to ‘The best version thus far of a guitar that’s always been the single-cut to beat’ according to Guitarist magazine’s review of the 2014 model – Full spec here from Gibson’s excellent website – Note the $3,269 new list price! *solid mahogany weight relieved body with carved AAAA flamed maple top and front binding *slim 60s neck profile with rosewood fretboard *chrome tune-o-matic bridge and ‘Nashville’ stop tailpiece *no scratchplate *Gibson Burstbucker Pro Rhythm & Lead alnico 5 humbucker pickups with classic chrome covers *3 way pickup selector switch *two volume/two tone set up – the volume pots also coil split each pickup individually. The tone pots are push/pull also with the neck pickup pot providing a Peter Green/Gary Moore type out of phase option and the bridge tone pot pickup provider a ‘blower’/lead option that bypasses whatever other settings the pots are set at to deliver full bridge humbucker in isolation at full volume and with the tone circuits bypassed from the signal *three way Switchcraft pickup selector *orange drop capacitors If you need to know anymore about the guitar, or would like further photos etc, please do let me know. Not many of these around at the moment, and they had a UK RRP of £2,299 upon release, or $3,269… UK Postage will be via UPS, insured to £1,000.00 and with a next day service after they collect it from me; don’t let eBay sellers rip you off with postage, or that old chestnut “I’m not sending my beloved guitar via courier – they break everything” – rubbish I accept payment by cash on collection, cheque, postal order or PayPal Please check my 100% feedback over 1,026 unique transactions and bid with utmost confidence. I am not a guitar buyer/seller, but do quite often buy them for my own use and so have lots of experience packing & posting guitars for safe transit I would prefer UK sales only, but potential European bidders are welcome to contact me to discuss bidding, strictly in advance of doing so, primarily for your benefit so as we can agree on payment and shipping prices before committing to anything. I can source competitive shipping rates for most European countries, so please don’t hesitate to ask – I will work with you on it Any other queries, please do shout up. I am never very far away from the PC and always respond to questions promptly. If you would like photos of any more specific areas of the guitar, again I generally oblige within a few hours The guitar is available for sale elsewhere, so could be withdrawn from eBay at any time. Please contact me if you would like details, but the lower price is only available privately, and to those willing to pay by BACS transfer, cheque or PayPal Gift, i.e. fee-free payments only
