This microphone has very much a lived in look but it is in perfect working order. The KMR 82i is a hyper cardioid mic which manages to have a warm feel and response. I found it the best match with my Schoeps microphones if a noise on set needed to be cancelled. One time I was Recording dialog next to a road recovery vehicle with the engine running. I said to the boom op. down the coms, "well done getting that engine turned off", he smiled and favoured the van and the engine was still on and purring quite loudly. The Neumann mic is an excellent microphone and its well worth having one up your sleeve.
