Up for sale is a pair of Auso-Siemens ELA 75-16 Compressor / Limiters - allegedly designed by Dick Sweetenham of Helios for Auso-Siemens in Italy. These beautifully constructed units feature the same -24VDC (positive ground) design as the 1970's Helios consoles. Unlike any other solid state compressor I've seen these units feature FIVE transformers each - two for I/O coupling, and three interstage transformers - making these excellent for adding real transformer saturation to digital tracks. All the switches are stepped and like the 75-15 Universal Equalizers these were built by Auso-Siemens with only the highest grade components (metal film resistors, gold plated switches, etc). The controls are: Output (Usc.), Input (Ingr.), Expander In/Out (Espansore), Threshold (Soglia), Compression: Limit / Compr. 2:1 / Compr. 3:1, Release Time (Tempo di Ripristino), On/Bypass. These come pre-wired to XLR pigtails, functional, tested and wired to an external DC power supply. the modules working property i have put some love on it but being vintage materials this are sold with no guarantee no return . sold as this as photo ... so if you do not agree with this please do not bid. thanks |
