Up for sale is a beautiful example of what many believe to be the finest and RAREST American Standard telecaster ever made.  The "American Series Ash Telecaster" (nicknamed the "8502" by guitar and telecaster enthusiasts who instantly recognised the special qualities of this unsung gem) was manufactured by the Fender company in their Corona California factory for only four and a half years from July of 2003 through January 2008.  In that short time a fiercely loyal fan base has developed and made the 8502 model all but non-existent in the resale market. Search for yourself and you'll see that these amazing instruments almost NEVER appear for sale online or elsewhere.  This rare American Telecaster model is so coveted by guitar enthusiasts and collectors that a number of fan based forums and message boards have been created since the model was first released. Most notably: Telecaster Discussion Page re-issue, Guitar owners forum, 8502 Club FenderForum.com, 8502 Club, American Ash Telecaster What makes this model so special? It's been described as a "modern players" and "modernised" version of the 52 re-issue. Here is a list of some of the unique features that you'll find in an 8502: 1 piece Maple Neck with 22 medium jumbo frets and rolled fingerboard edges 2 "Modern Vintage Tele" Single coil pickups FOUND ONLY ON 8502 Models. Fender has NEVER sold them separately or used them on any other instrument. 2 Piece Ash Body with a "sharp '52 style Body radius American Series Tele Steel Bridge plate with Chrome plated brass saddles. (Most Standard Telecasters have chrome plated brass bridge plates) When I bought her (new in 2003) I tried out 15 other Tele’s at the same time - she was head and shoulders above all the others - there was no comparison. This really is an instrument to last a lifetime - plays and sounds like a dream. This guitar is in good condition, with a couple of small dings shown in the pics.  Comes with the original case and most of the case candy.
