Tokai Cats Eye is a popular Tokai Cash Eye even among Japan Vintage. This time, the CE-1200 CF of the all-veneer body, the middle high-end model of such Cats · Eye arrived!
Solid Spruce TOP, Solid Rosewood SIDE & BACK, Mahogany NECK, Ebony Fingerboard & Bridge, 43 mm Nut, 645 mm Scale Dreadnought Body. The CF series is a series aiming at a modern, Martin, and replica, and this CE-1200 CF is a model that reproduces the Martin D-28 of that time as much as possible.
The sound is brilliant and gorgeous impression responsive sound! Because the bridge is thinly scraped, the bracing is non-scallop, but the sound has become a slightly scattered sound like a scroll bracing. On the contrary, I feel that the row is somewhat unsatisfactory, but I think that the bright sparkling sound is in some sense a sound that matches the recent trends. If you scratch with a flat pick, you will get a loud tone with a pretty sense of volume, and even if you pluck with a finger, you play a rich beautiful sound with both sustain and harmonics!
Condition of instruments is scarcely small, and it is beautiful to watch, but, unfortunately it is over-lacquered overall in a certain shop, and it is semi · gross · finish. The bridge is thinned to about half of the original thickness and it is over sprayed from above. The cloudiness of the paint of Japan vintage itself is slightly seen in the vicinity of the logo of the head / top, but this is also over lacquer from the top, so I think that it is not conspicuous so much. The peg has been replaced with a glover in recent years, but the post hole, the screw position etc. are the same as the original.
Neck condition is good and beautiful straight, the current string height is on the 12 frets on the 6th string side 2.3mm, the 1st string side is about 1.7mm and it is set very easy to play. There is almost no room in the saddle, but you do not need to lower the string height any more. The fret wear is small, there are no places where it is dented extremely, so overall about 80% of the original height remains, so you can still use it with confidence.
Considering from the sound quality, I think whether it is one affordable enough!
