Description
RG Lawrie bagpipes. Made in 1930's - 1940'sThese bagpipes are genuine RG Lawries. They have been in my family for many years and were passed down to me by my father about 15 years ago. They needed some TLC back then (and will do again now), so I had some parts restored and repaired. (Particularly the inner part of the ring caps). I use to play these pipes on special occasions and they give out a fantastic sound. About 7 years ago one of the inner parts of the ring cap on the base drone, fell out without my knowledge. I have since not played them as I had another set of pipes and never got around to repairing these. I'm selling because I feel that it is a shame to have such a great set of pipes packed away and not being played. I rarely play pipes anymore and can not justify owning two sets, so I would love these to go to someone who are going to show them the respect they deserve. Please refer to photos on the condition of these pipes. I have been told by a bagpipe restorer that these would cost about $500 to restore. Obviously cheaper if you did it yourself. Features. Flat combed style with blackwood projecting mounts and tapered nickel ferrules.Drones: African Blackwood with top ring caps that are made of genuine "Iv" (not plastic, pipers will understand what I mean by "Iv"). Mouth piece is silver and "Iv" (wink wink). Hallmarks PH, Henderson. Not sure what the other 3 hallmarks represent. Chanter: African Blackwood with "Iv" sole. 1 x D. Naill Co chanter1 x Shepherd chanter2 x plastic mouth pieces1 x Moisture control system1 x Canmore pipe bag1 x Green cords 1 x Tartan bag cover*The features of the bagpipes are what I have been told by quite a few professionals in the piping industry over the years. I do believe the information I have provided is correct and accurate. Feel free to ask any questions before purchasing. Selling "as is". Insured and registered mail. If interested, please ask postage price before purchase so I can give an accurate postage price.Pick up available in Seaford Victoria or local delivery may be arranged.
