A rock icon, updated for today' extreme rock.An iconic axe, modernized for extreme rock.Gibson™s Flying V with Floyd Rose features a solid mahogany body and solid quarter-sawn mahogany neck, topped with a dark Obeche fretboard, which together produce an unbelievable blend of warmth, resonance and sustain. The hybrid neck profile combines the rounded '50s shape with Gibson's sleeker SlimTaper profile, starting at .800" at the first fret and rising gradually to .850" at the twelfth. This tone monster is loaded with two high-gain pickups for fierce sonic performance, a 496R in the neck position and a 500T in the bridge. The 496R delivers tones that are smooth and creamy, and the 500T, one of Gibson's hottest humbuckers, produces sounds from brutal crunch to wailing, screaming leads with almost infinite sustain.
