The story of the Bee Gees and a beautiful blonde:This guitar has a little popular music history behind it. When I bought it in Fort Lauderdale in 2005, the hang tag said " Bee Gees Guitar." The shop owner, bass wizard Tommy Snellgrove, explained that it belonged to guitarist Alan Kendall, who played on many Bee Gees records including the 15X platinum Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The guitar is a mint or near-mint condition Guild Starfire II from 1997 I believe. It's a Westerly Rhode Island build, AG300699.It's an elegant-looking hollow-body electric with beautifully flamed maple body and back. Lightweight, great action and very versatile tones. All original, with the original Guild hard shell case that has all those latches in the back you always forget.- Body: flamed maple - semi hollow, single florentine cutaway,- Top: laminated curly maple w/F-holes,- Neck: 1-piece (mahagony, I think)- Fretboard: Rosewood with dot inlays and 20 frets,- Grover Rotomatic tuners- Pickguard: orig. "Stairstep Pickguard",- Pickups: 2x orig. Guild humbucking pickups,- Tailpiece: orig. Guild Harp style tailpiece,- Case: Guild black hardshell case.
