Up for sale, a 1976 Kramer 450G vintage electric guitar in excellent condition and in perfect working order. From Kramer's initial models only offered in 1976-77, the 450G retains many of the hallmarks of the earlier Travis Bean models, before Bean parted ways with Gary Kramer in '75. At 11lbs on the dot, this guitar has near endless sustain and a very prominent and throaty acoustic voice that translates well through the pickups. The articulation and clarity of this guitar is in a class of its own, and all of the materials used to craft this classic add up to a tone that is wholly unique yet a perfect fit for a variety of musical genres. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with Thomastik Power Bright 11s, this guitar is truly a "tone machine" and is simply a ton of fun to play.The aluminum neck has two large walnut inlays for a hybrid wood/metal feel that's actually quite comfortable with a medium C shaped profile. The walnut and aluminum are notably smooth along all edges and it's hands down the most comfortable Kramer neck from this era we've ever played. The Ebanol fretboard is an important part of the clarity and glassy top end that this guitar provides, and the original jumbo frets are intact as well. The frets are in fantastic shape, with well rounded crowns and virtually no wear. The forked aluminum headstock sports the original Schaller tuning machines which turn very smoothly and hold pitch well.All of the electronics work as they should, with individual volume and tone knobs for each pickup along with a three-way pickup selector switch. The original CTS pots date to the 33rd week of 1976, and there is one new factory-spec CTS pot in the wiring harness as well. The aluminum pickup covers are engraved with the Kramer name (the humbuckers were purportedly made by Mighty Mite) and the pickups are height adjustable from the back of the instrument. Two of the original speed knobs are present, along with two well matched replacements. The solid walnut body has very prominent grain and features two thick maple strips. The body shows only a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat and a few extremely tiny nicks around the body contours. There is also one slender and professionally repaired crack running from the edge of the control cavity to one of the tone pots (close up photo included). Overall, this is a very clean and complete vintage Kramer from the first year of production!The original hardshell case is included.
