Here we have a  beautiful 80's ESP 400 series S-type guitar in stunning Candy Apple Red.  This is a very special guitar as it was assembled in New York.  I bought it from the original owner, who got it from the loft in NYC.  Very Rare, Very Cool.  It is in very good condition, with minimal fret wear, some finish checks, and swirls, but looks FANTASTIC for a 30+ year old guitar!I cleaned it up, put new D'addario 10's on it, cleaned and conditioned the fretboard, tweaked the intonation a little, and did a complete set-up (though it needed very little).  The trem is set up against the body, so it stays in tune wonderfully, and improves the resonance of any S-type guitar IMHO.It looks to be completely original, including the gig bag (which I can not find any similar pics of anywhere on the web) .... maybe the 2 screws for the 5 way switch are not original?Anyway, it plays, sounds, and looks fantastic.  A new guitar of this quality would be way over $1300.  No reserve, see the pics and my perfect ebay rating selling lots of high end guitar stuff, and bid to win!  Shipping will be flat $50 in the lower 48.  I will ship elsewhere, but you must agree to pay actual expenses, etc.  Ask all questions before bidding.  You are going to love this guitar! Below is the description from the previous owner:
You are looking at a gorgeous guitar, an ESP 400 Series Stratocaster, manufactured in the mid '80s. There were a limited number of these 400 Series Strats made. I purchased this directly from the original ESP showroom in their NYC loft, when they opened up shop for full instruments here. That was in 1984 or 1985. This axe plays like dream. It was used very little, unfortunately (well, for me.. but fortunately for you!). The metallic candy apple red glossy finish is remarkable. Photos don't do it justice. This is in fabulous condition! Gorgeous Metallic Candy-Apple Red glossy finish, with only 1 eensy beensy scratch (see photo), and a ding you can barely notice. It was hard to even photograph those, they're so unassuming, but I wanted to give a honest representation of the instrument. Please look at all the photos. Anything on the body other than the 2 things I clearly marked are reflections. All electronics work perfectly. This was VERY lightly used in all the 32 years that owned it for (I'm original owner).   The instrument is in perfect working condition. I'm not a tech-head, so I'm not going to run down all the features of a Stratocaster, but if you're reading this, you probably already know what they are. And if not, there's a wealth of info online about Stratocasters. But I'm not finding a lot about this particular series.. that's how limited it was. On all the Facebook guitar forums I've posted this, all the guitar tech heads and buffs agree that this 400 Series ESP model was one of the best ESP Strats ever made, if not THE best. This comes with a custom, well-padded ESP vinyl gig bag with a large accessories pocket. The left side's strap mooring ripped, but the piece is included. This can be fixed at a leather or shoe repair shop. The inside vinyl of the gig-bag around the head-stock area has corroded slightly ,so I suggest your repair as you desire, because some of the residue from that can get on the machine heads and the nut (some of it has, see pics). That can easily removed with a solvent.
