This Aria Pro ii Rev-Sound RS 850 was built in Japan at the famous Matsumoku factory in 1981. As you may already know, this is the highest-spec model available and features some amazing craftsmanship as you can see. Other refinements include recessed bridge and tailpiece for extra sustain and brass top nut. The electronics, according to sources on the 'net, are reputed to be Alembic. Apparently Alembic sent the electronics to the Matsumoku plant with the express purpose of being used in top of the range Alembic style instruments such as this.
Anyhow, they sound fabulous! The pickups are active with their own EQ switch, the middle position being a noise-cancelling dummy pickup Fret-wear is light and the rosewood board shows some wear around the first few frets, but nothing that would cause a problem. The guitar has one significant ding as shown, but this is not visible in normal playing positions. Other marks are quite light, especially on a 36 year old guitar. One of the pots is a little crackly, but not a problem. Now the boring bit: silly offers are automatically declined. No postage outside the UK. Local pick-up welcome.
