4-string Bowed Dulcimer designed and built in upstate New York by known dulcimer luthier, Nicolas Hambas. Brand new. Excellent tone, strong and sweet. Box made of figured American walnut, top is Western red cedar. Both woods contribute to a mellow, deep sound. Fretboard is ebony.Stringed and tuned as octave violin (one octave lower than violin tuning). Designed to be tuned to other tunings using the same or different strings. For example, you may tune it to ADad or GDgd using the existing strings. With some string changes, it can be tuned to DGBE -- same as the four top strings on the guitar, or CGDA - the same as a viola, or an octave lower to sound like a cello. The instrument will accept any of these tunings without sacrifice to the sound.Exceptionally light weight, only 2 lbs 4 oz. Gold Glover 18:1 tuners carry lifetime guarantee. The dulcimer itself is guaranteed against construction and materials for one full year.
