PAOLO SOPRANI CHROMATIC BUTTON ACCORDION - "C" System
Estimated price for orientation: 1 700 $
Category: Accordions
Class:
Description Number of Bass Keys: 120 Country/Region of Manufacture: Italy Register: 7/2 Model: Musette Number of Treble Keys: 86
Offered here is a Pre-corporate takeover (1970’s vintage) Paolo Soprani Chromatic Button Accordion (CBA), C-system. This is the French Musette model with wet tuning and a beautiful musette sound. The complete accordion is in like new condition, with the exception of the shoulder straps, which show wear where they pass over the shoulders (perfectly serviceable, however). The bass strap is like new. The reeds are rust free, the valves still tight, bellows perfect & leak free and everything works as designed. There are no odors. The “black” keys are marked with a small black dot on the upper side of the buttons, visible by the player. Specifications as follows: Treble side; 86 Buttons, 77 Active, 45 Pitches, 4 Reed blocks arranged LMMM (Triple Musette), 8 Registers + master, double action button mechanism. Bass Side; 120 bass buttons, 5 Reed blocks, 2 Registers. Overall weight is 22.5 Lbs. (10.2 kg), measures 21” tall x 15.5” wide x 9” deep [53x40x23cm]. Includes a new carry case (8 Lbs.). This accordion is in like new condition with almost no signs of use (although I have used it!). No scrapes, scratches or dings. Never dropped. The reed wax is still tight and pliable, not dried out or crumbly. As noted above, this box is one of the last REAL Paolo Soprani accordions made. The family owned and run business (acknowledged as the first manufacturer of accordions in Castlefidardo, Italy, the home of the accordion) was sold to a conglomerate in 1980 and quality suffered accordingly [pun intended]. Email if you need more pics or info. DESPITE WHAT IT SAYS ABOVE, SHIPPING COSTS WILL BE THE ACTUAL AMOUNT! LOWER 48 ONLY, sorry! A boxed accordion is right at or slightly over the 106” limit, and shipping costs will vary according to whoever is behind the counter. It’ll be right around $75.00 unless the counter person insists it is an oversize package, in which case it can run up to $160.00 (that happened to me, once.). I’ll do everything in my power to keep the cost down, however, it’s not up to me. I will select the cheapest method: USPS, UPS, FedEx, unless otherwise specified. Please email for shipping cost after submitting auction payment and expect to submit that amount prior to shipment (all of this is to ensure the minimum cost to YOU). Weight will be about 35 lbs. INSURANCE REQUIRED ON BID AMOUNT!!!
