Description

Olivia's Vintage would like to present this rare Ampeg/Burns TR2 in its original faded Sunburst finish. This model was the first semi-hollow electric made by Burns. It has a SOLID CARVED top and back with laminated sides. This was also a very innovative guitar with a very early active pre-amp built into the electronics. It has a good playing neck with great frets, but there is some fret buzz past the 16th fret. The end of the neck on the treble side has a bit of a rise which is causing a few dead frets past the 18th fret on the treble side. It's all original with the exception of the brass zero fret, one strap button, the battery clip, jack, and a couple of screws. It's also 100% complete with the exception of the string tension guide between the bridge and tailpiece. A gig bag is included. There is a minor crack in the bass side of the heel just below the neck joint. There is also a cracked area in the laminated sides on the bottom edge, and two very minor surface cracks running out from the screw holes for the jack plate. Also, some slight binding separation around the middle of the body on the sides. There are nicks + dings, chipped finish, finish cracks, and other cosmetic wear. Despite these issues, this rare English made Ampeg remains structurally sound. All electronics work and sound great.
