THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION.  PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my !Be sure to add me to your ! *Today I am listing the latest installment of mouthpieces and other sax gear which I am selling on consignment for saxophonist Frank Catalano. For those of you who may not be familiar, Frank is a true heavy hitter in the jazz world and has been featured on multiple Grammy winning albums. He is also the quintessential gear hound, having amassed a collection of over 500 mouthpieces! He now endorses and plays Jody Jazz mouthpieces exclusively so he is purging some of his massive collection of mouthpieces he has acquired over many years. Be sure to check out my other items for more great mouthpieces from this collection. There will be more to come later, so add me to your favorites list and check back later to see new additions.*Please note: mouthpieces shown in the pictures are for display purposes only. They are not included in this auction. This auction is for a rare vintage Arnold Brilhart 3 band alto saxophone ligature. These are often referred to as the 'holy grail' of vintage saxophones ligatures! They came in several varieties, this being the double B screw version. As you can see, it is stamped "Arnold Brilhart" on the top of the screw bars, and "AL" for alto on the side. That last part is important. I see a lot of less valuable clarinet models passed off as being for alto, or "fitting" alto, but in reality they will not fit properly. This one is actually for alto mouthpieces. Furthermore, this one fits the fatter vintage pieces, including the ever popular Meyer. In my last few pictures you can see it on both a Meyer NY, USA, and a NY Meyer Bros. mouthpiece. You can see that there is still room for the screws to come out farther on both those pieces. It will also work on just about any other standard size hard rubber or plastic alto mouthpiece, such as Selmer Soloist, Otto Link Tone Edge, Gregory, and, of course, Brilharts. This ligature is in excellent shape. It has never been bent or otherwise damaged. The screws are working flawlessly with no stripping o the threads. It has lost its lacquer and is tarnished, but that is about it. This is a great ligature for the serious player or collector. Re-productions are now being made of these, but the originals will always be in high demand and they are getting harder to find. Please feel free to email me with any questions.
Thanks again for looking!
