This is about as clean and correct as a vintage guitar can be. All original and in amazing condition; even the original hard case is super clean and the hangtags and key are present. And the color, Sparkling Burgundy, is incredible.Made in 1967 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the ES-335 is one of the most sought after and collectible guitar models ever made by GIbson. The 12-string version is much more rare but because of the niche appeal of 12-string guitars, it actually has a lower value than it's 6-string brethren. There is no finer electric 12-string than the Gibson ES-335 XII in terms of playability, tone and beauty. This particular example is in excellent condition with only the most minor blemishes and light, tasteful lacquer checking. No breaks, no repairs, all original down to the tiniest screw.Sparkling Burgundy is much more rare than the cherry stain that you typically see. The red tends to fade and the clear tends to yellow leaving many of guitars in this color in a gorgeous metallic copper. This one has faded in perfectly and is stunning. The back has less fading and is much more burgundy red.The guitars is set up nicely and plays cleanly and easily up and down the neck. The original six-on-a-plate Kluson tuners are firm and hold tune. From a playability standpoint, this guitar is exceptional. The sound is pure 12-string jangle. The 1960's humbuckers are well-balanced and the high frequencies don't get out of hand. A little compression makes it fatter and sweeter.
Overall, an excellent example and certainly collector's grade yet you will want to play it all of the time.  The color, rarity and condition make it a conversation piece anytime it's out in public. It's just really fun to play.
