This listing is for a fine quality handmade 4/4 professional level BAUSCH violin bow made circa 1890. The bow was recently assessed by Peter Horner of Bromptons. It is not one of the mass produced Bausch examples of a later period. This bow features sterling silver mounts, fine quality aged red brown pernambuco wood with original whalebone lapping (now banned). It plays very well, is strong, straight and is an excellent quality bow. The bow screw/winder works perfectly well. Has excellent camber. Weight at approx.60.5 grams, straight and no damage. There are no cracks. Bows of this quality are hard to come by at reasonable prices. Recently used in professional performing context and has been rated as 'a very good playing bow' by a well respected performer and teacher.Plays very well!
