Although he only makes a few instruments a year, he is one of the best ukulele makers in Hawaii.His instruments are known for their extremely lightweight construction and unusual design.This fine instrument has solid mahogany back and sides with very interesting shimmering wood grain.The top is beautiful straight-grained solid spruce, which gives it a really bright, clear tone.Brazilian Rosewood bridge and fretboard with paua shell dot markers and a bone saddle and nut.Extremely colorful paua shell soundhole rosette with multiple black and white pinstripes.Low string height for ease of playing, and fluorocarbon strings for crisp highs.Solid mahogany neck. Radical asymmetric headstock shape.Paua shell inlay fretboard dot markers at 5,7,10,12, 15 and 17th frets. Zero fret for low 1st fret string height. White side dot markers at 5,7,10,12, 15 and 17th frets, mirroring the fretboard markers.14 fret joint, with 20 frets total. Radical sharp-edged cutaway gives access to the high frets.Black closed gear tuners, with black buttons. Black body binding with multiple black and white pinstripes.Carefully hand-made with an attention to detail, and with a beautiful gloss finish.
