Up for sale is my old Tobacco Sunburst SG2000. I have had lots of Yamaha SGs over the years and this one is by far the best. Made in 1976 (the first year SG2000s were produced) I assume it is a prototype or a very early version of the SG2000, because it has a few things that make it different to every other SG2000 I have owned.- It has fret edge binding, which is something other SG2000s do not have.-The serial number is the same pattern as the SG175s, rather than the standard SG2000 pattern.-The rear of the head stock is finished differently to the rest of the guitar.-The Ebony fretboard has aged differently to the other SG2000s I have owned. The grain looks slightly different.Other than that, it seems to be the same spec as a normal SG2000 - mahogany body, maple top, neck through etc. The top has a very subtle flame in certain lights. It has its fair share of knocks, as you would expect from a guitar of this age. The finish has cracked over the Yamaha logo. The cracking is not structural. More pictures of the guitar : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ak72nmvmf1gral9/AAD38gV6QSbWsnhv2B4UZlHYa?dl=0I have replaced the original pickups with Bareknuckle Mules and the machine heads with Grover rotomatics. I will include the original parts with the sale. I could remove the Mules and take £150 off if they are not wanted. The electrics are original. The truss rod is tight, but it has enough give to tighten it and loosen it for a stable action throughout summer and winter. Currently its set up with 9-46s. The weight is around 4.6kg and guitar absolutely sings.UK Postage only, collection and questions welcome.
