Blue U47 Large Diaphragm Tube Condenser Microphone (Upgraded)You are bidding on a Blue U47 large diaphragm multi pattern tube condenser microphone. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A VINTAGE MICROPHONE NOR DOES IT CONTAIN ANY VINTAGE PARTS. This is a replica of a classic design using Blue sourced parts (except as detailed below) and uses an EF-86 tube along with offering selectable cardioid or omni pickup patterns.This particular Blue U47 (S/N 70094) was purchased from Guitar Center San Jose in late 2000 and has only seen limited use since. The microphone body and head basket are in outstanding condition with no scratches or marks. In March 2017, the complete mic system was shipped to Telefunken USA for inspection and evaluation. Telefunken service techs replaced the generic Chinese capsule with a new Telefunken mylar M-7 capsule (as used in the Telefunken U-47's) and replaced the unbranded EF-86 tube with a NOS Amperex EF-86. The mic system was burned in, tested and shipped back. Vocal tests on the upgraded Blue U47 indicate a very smooth and rich tone through the lows and mids, with a touch of air at the top end. You will be very pleased with how this microphone sounds. Please refer to the frequency analysis chart provided by Telefunken.This Blue U47 is in immaculate condition, and needs to be sold to provide space in the studio microphone locker for new mics currently on order.The Blue U47 ships complete with the following:1) Blue U47 (Upgraded) in a padded wooden storage box2) Blue power supply with AC cord 3) Suspension shock mount4) Blue 7-pin "Champagne" interconnect cable with backup interconnect cable5) Heavy duty ATA style flight caseDocumentation with the mic includes:1) A copy of the Telefunken USA Service invoice2) A copy of the Tube Depot EF-86 invoice3) A copy of the frequency response graph of the mic in final test as provided by TelefunkenSHIPPING VIA FED EX INSURED.
