Hello, Here we have for sale my beautiful JJ Special Gold Top. I bought this a few years ago becuase I wanted a Gibson SG like what Frank Zappa plays (but with a twist) and I'm glad I did. For a start, you can't get a gold SG, but more than that, this guitar sounds easily as good and is as fun and easy to play as you could want. The pickups are a Di Marzio humbucker in the bridge postion, which is strong and rich. This also has a coil tap meaning you can get a single-coil smack out of it if you like. The neck pup is a P90 which I have to say sounds absolutely gorgeous, warm and jazzy with a bit of growl if you like it. The neck and frets are in fine condition, smooth and very nice under the fingers. I know a few collectors buy these guitars, but I am a player and this is a player's guitar, it is really nicely designed and finished to a high standard. One of the absolute best things about this instrument is that it holds its tuning extremely well. A lot of that is down to the Sperzel tuners which are honestly the best in the business, smooth, accurate and tenatious. These guitars are handmade in Warwickshire, England.  this one is smooth, sexy and a joy to play.  It's a bit like JJ got an SG and a PRS and made them have an unholy guitar baby.  There is a small dink in the laquer on the top edge; wood undamaged. Everything else is almost pristine. After I bought it I emailed Jeff (J of JJ) to ask about the provenance, he replied with the following comments"Your guitar was certanly produced early in 2003. I still have one in my personal collection. The guitar is made using Brazilian Mahogany for the body and neck and the fingerboard is from our very old Rosewood stocks."After all this gushing sentiment, why am I selling it? Well, simply time to change. If you wanna change your art, change your habits. Or your instruments. Why not change to this one? You won't regret it. Comes with a Hiscox liteflight case.
