This beautiful instrument is a traditional Nakazao shamisen.The shamisen is constructed of kouki wood for the body, featuring ebony in the neck. The strings are silk, and the dou is made of cat skin.The bachi is made of compressed powder and pink doukake, and is designed for silk strings only. The bachi itself is usually very expensive, but is included here for no extra charge.The instrument is capable of playing sawari via string placement instead of mechanical buttons.The shamisen was hand-assembled by master craftsman Yoshi Yamamoto, and imported from Kyoto, Japan.Finally, a vintage case is included.
