Class:
Description Brand: Luis & Clark MPN: #548 Model: Luis Leguia Size: 4/4 UPC: Does not apply
This is a used Luis & Clark carbon fiber cello, Luis Leguia model, serial no. #548. These instruments are considered to be the best carbon fiber cellos available, with a fantastic tone and the advantage of being highly durable. I bought this instrument several years ago when I was touring a lot and bookers didn't want to pay for an extra seat for my wooden instrument but the Luis & Clark solves all those problems! It is also pretty much not affected by changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent traveling instrument, this one has seen a lot of the world. I also LOVE the tuning pegs which allow for exceptionally easy tuning and scordatura due to being set up as geared tuning pegs. This instrument is used but due to the durability of the Luis & Clark carbon fiber there is no damage that I'm aware of. The bridge has begun to bend slightly from normal use of the tuning pegs, however that can be easily reset by your local string shop or luthier. The cello has been set up to improve the dynamic and timbral spectrum of the instrument, and sounds great. If you've tried one before, you know how consistent and versatile these instruments are. This instrument also comes fitted with a Realistic pickup INCLUDED, which retail new for over $200. This means it's ready to go for amplification if you're working with louder instruments or with bands. I was not intending to necessarily sell the cello with a case, however I do have a used Laughlin hard cello case with damaged clasps that could be added to the sale upon negotiation.Luis & Clark cellos list for $7,139, and that is before all the upgrades and extra hardware (set up, bridge, strings, realistic pick up)Here are some links to hear the instrument:I am from Australia but this instrument is currently with me in San Diego California, USA. I would love to do local pickup within Southern California but am open to discussing shipping for buyers elsewhere within the United States. Please feel free to ask any questions!
