Toured lightly JJOS is an alternative third party operating system that you can install in the MPC1000 and MPC2500 to replace the default Akai operating system; it adds additional functionality and fixes existing Akai bugs. Originally there was just one JJOS (the ‘free’ JJOS’) but over time it has branched out into many distinct versions, each with uniquely different features. The most current versions of JJOS are now virtually unrecognisable to the original Akai OS and contain some of the most advanced features ever seen on any MPC.
