Martin D-28 "1941 Authentic" : Adirondack top with unique rear-shifted bracing, Madagascar rosewood back and sides, hide glue construction, thin nitro gloss finish including gloss neck and headstock. This guitar is the most balanced-toned D I've ever heard or owned. It's got power and headroom, with articulate bass, yet it responds sweetly to a light touch. The neck has a slight v-shape near the 1-11/16" nut. This guitar has a wide-grained Adirondack top with cross-silking -- but without prominent redish racing stripes in the grain. There's also fine figuring on the Madagascar and head plate. Its 2012 serial number puts it among the first '41 Authentics produced so the Adirondack top is non-VTS.
