It plays and sounds like a dream. You can always recognize a GEM by the fact that it's been played. If it's 20 years old and in perfect condition that generally means its not a players guitar. This is a sought after model that is getting harder to find. This is the top tier for MIM Fenders. It's not the same as the regular models and is a deluxe custom limited run. This thing was almost $1000.00 new and is now at the vintage classification turning 20 years old in January 2018. You'll literally own a great condition vintage Strat. It has recently been serviced by a PRO luthier. It has had all electronics cleaned, action set low with no buzz, perfect intonation, pickups adjusted cleaned inside and out and new Elixir Polywebs 10's, neck adjusted, fretboard oiled and the battery changed, also had frets smoothed on the ends (feels like butter). It has upgraded custom black Kluson Deluxe Vintage Style Locking tuners and black Schaller strap locks as well as a black Seymour Duncan Hot Rail and a black tremolo arm tip as well as black pickup covers. This is a used but loved and cared for guitar. I bought it from the original owner maybe 12 - 15 years ago or so. I used it exclusively for years but never gigged or abused it. It was used on parts of my debut album. It was loved and played and does have some light scuffs dings and scratches in some areas and slight fret wear on a few frets but nothing major and nothing that effects the playability or sound. Still tons and tons of life left in it. The Pickguard has the true natural aged tint to it. A REAL HEAD TURNER! KILLER NECK! It has an upgraded Seymour Duncan Hot Rail in the bridge and the stock Deluxe Custom Powerhouse Ultra-Quiet Single-Coils in the middle and neck position. It also boasts a 12db boost built in the middle tone knob to activate. It also has a dummy coil under the pickguard to cancel all hum and sound in all 5 switch positions.. So no single coil noise. Great for live or playing with a band or studio time. It slices through the mix with SUPERB tone and is so easy to play. I will throw in a nice brand new Fender strap and a nice used gig bag. This thing is ready to play and gig and record or whatever you have in store for it. I am sad to let it go but it doesn't get the play it used to anymore and deserves better.
