Here is a 1960 Vintage CG Conn USA Elkhart Indiana which is what is stamped on the bell with serial number is 855170 which is also stamped on the slide . The model is 8H is stamped in the horn where the slide attaches. although its more like a 88h with the Valve thumb trigger but this one has the O E. Thayer style trigger which you don't see often. Although keep in mind I am no Trombone expert. My understanding there where some prototypes made in the early 60's with the Thayer valve but they only made a few. This has a 8.5 inch bell and a Vincent Bach 6.5 AL silver Mouth Piece. The tuner slides do move but are a bit sticky. A guy played a nice piece on this in the shop..sounds nice! The slide itself moves very freely. Keep in mind this bone has tarnish spots, wear through out and a spot on the bell that is very worn. Trigger also works freely. This does come with the original case just keep in mind the case is shot and very worn out. Someone will probably love playing this instrument that is now 56 years old.
