Description:PLEASE note that I will only be listing this once so don't miss it. You are bidding on an interesting item. It is a VINTAGE 1868 EARLY BUFFET CRAMPON PARIS BARITONE SAXOPHONE nr 357 for RESTORATION. The number dates it to approximately 1866 & has no BUFFET CRAMPON LOGO on it. The Company started producing Saxophones in 1866 after the Patent by Adolphe SAX expired in that year. This is the 357th saxophone produced by the Company. The engraving is legible & reads BUFFET CRAMPON & Cie. BREVETTES 22 PASSAGE du GRANDE CERF PARIS 357. The pictures tell it all I think-I would describe the condition as QUITE POOR but apart from the missing mouthpiece & a couple of brackets(?) it does appear complete. The brass appears to be in good condition(visually)but there are a lot of dents(no enormous ones though). I also have a slightly later one listed separately & they are shown together in the last photo. PLEASE note that I am not an expert on this type of thing though. Your comments would be welcomed & added to the listing. Approx 3100g unpacked. Approx 980mm in height. PLEASE see the detailed photos that form part of the description and ask any questions that you have BEFORE you bid especially about condition or overseas postage.
