Class:
Description Brand: Yamaha Dexterity: Right-Handed Model: Vintage String Configuration: 6 String Body Type: Hollow Exact Year: 1972 Series: Jumbo Country/Region of Manufacture: Japan
This is a beautiful vintage Yamaha "Country Jumbo" acoustic. These are rarer among older Yamaha's and it definitely competes with more expensive Gibson's. This is the first solid spruce top acoustic Yamaha produced in the 70's. The wood has aged nicely and the tone is warm and full. The sides and back are Indian Rosewood, neck is mahogany, and the fret board and bridge are ebony.I have owned this guitar for roughly 35 + years, and I acquired it new. There is a very faint, but visible, scratch on the right top of the soundboard, and there is some very minor clear coat crackling along the heel due to age. Beyond that, it is cosmetically flawless. The serial number is 204100110. It was made at the
Kaoh Susiung Factory in Taiwan in April 10th, 1972. This model was only produced for two years, due to a legal issue with GibsonIn October, I had the guitar completely tuned: (Set-up & Adjust) in which the saddle was cut and action was lowered, Intonation was checked, the Truss Rod adjusted, the Fret Board and bridge cleaned, and oiled. Loose tuners were also reset, and all braces and bridge plate were inspected. The strings are Elixir Nano 80/20 Bronze.
The guitar comes with the original (old school) semi-rigid Takamine case.
