Now better known for their acoustic guitars and association with Tommy Emmanuel, Maton have a rich history of making electric guitars. Only available between 1962 and 1965, just 453 Supreme 777’s were made, and it’s place in rock ’n’ roll history is assured as Keith Richards played one on the "Let it Bleed" sessions in 1969 and perhaps most famously on "Gimme Shelter”. It was Maton’s answer to the Gibson ES335 as there were import restrictions on getting 335’s into Australia during this time. Complete with Bigsby, and a wonderfully quirky selector switch, the guitar is in all original condition, and plays and sounds just great. Either as a piece of rock ’n’ roll history, or as a seriously impressive guitar in it’s own right, the Maton Supreme 777 is a real find. It comes in a non original hard case.
