This is the first model year guitar offered by G&L in Fullerton, Ca. It is 1980-81.The clear red laquer/ rosewood neck guitar has a number of  G008643. The date on the body is December 8th 1980. The neck is dated 1981. I bought it new, at the factory. As you can see by the pics it has had a very good life and is in excellent condition for its age. It does have a few minor dings. This guitar was brought to the shop in Fullerton 3/24/11 for complete electronics repair. The G&L archives revealed no schematics for it! Therefore they kept it for three months to totally rewire the guts and rewrap the pickups and draw a new schematic for the shop. The guitar works perfectly and sounds great! You will have no problems with it. The dual fulcrum tremolo and original schaller tuners keep the guitar in perfect tune. It can really deliver that wonderful tone these guitars are known for. The neck is straight and intonation is dead on. It has older strings on it ( you want to put on your favorite strings anyway). All VINTAGE G&L's are going up in value. This is a rare model. No case. Factory paperwork included. Also has Dunlop "staplocks" on it. Beautiful red /sun strap.
