You never see these…this is a 1959/1960 Gibson L5 tailpiece…correct for the CES or acoustic model. This one is in structurally excellent condition, and showing normal surface ‘relic’ handling wear. Presents well as an original tailpiece with normal handling and player wear. There is a lot of the gold plate intact, and some places where it is worn down to the nickel underplate. The nickel which is showing here and there is naturally grayed but you could polish that if you prefer. It’s a great tailpiece that will restore your valuable PAF-loaded L5. This one has the correct factory-soldered badge on it (you can see this on the rear side)….if you see the badge attached with 4 screw posts and nuts, you know that is much later, like 1970.
