Vintage Gibson Style A Mandolin serial #40358 Serial number indicates the instrument was made in 1918. Case appears to
be original (but not the funky spring handle). The latch on the case is broken.
Tuners are replacement for playability, but the original ones are included
with the instrument if you are a collector and they appear to be ivory.
Neck is very straight. Tiny fracture lines on the back (see photo) are stable and don’t
appear to go all the way through. This instrument is just in incredible shape to be 99 years
