Superb relic reproduction of Keith Richards' famous "Dice" TV Yellow Les Paul junior.
Chinese solid body, glued neck LPJ type guitar. The tuners have been replaced with Grover-style (the holes from the previous tuners bear witness to this), the pick up the guitar came with has been replaced with my favourite P90 on the market, the Warman Dogs Of War. I have tried various pick ups with the variety of TV yellow relics I have done and this one sounds the best yet. The clank of a traditional single coil with a little extra oomph is the best way I can describe it. The volume and tone knobs have been changed for distressed Tele-types, complete with vintage pointer washers and a beautiful hand cut tortoiseshell pickguard completes the look! The headstock has livery-appropriate waterslides, which are deliberately obvious from certain angles, though convincingly complete the look of the guitar.
The brand new yellow finish has been reduced to give it the dull look of a 60 year old classic and the body has been distressed with the scars of Keith's, copied from a few photos and stills of the guitar, with some extra dinks and wear and tear around the sides and back.
Stick a capo on the 7th fret and bash out "Midnight Rambler" or make it your main guitar with a nod to a greatly under-used classic! This is NOT an original Gibson but a very well made base instrument, beautifully and artistically re-imagined and set up to a very high standard by my own guitar tech.
