Advertised for sale here is an extremely rare 1982 Fullerton factory built Fender Stratocaster in original factory Lake Placid Blue. With Fullerton built Stratocaster's, Lake Placid Blue ranks in as the most rare custom colour! This one comes out of my own private collection, I rarely sell my own guitars. I have owned this from since 2006, purchased in New York and it has remained in non-played collectors condition since I bought it. It has just been professional set up and serviced and is ready to go.A stunning instrument, all original condition with its 5-way installed. Comes with its original tweed duck-foot case with keys, hang tag, Fender user manual, catalogue, bridge cover, trem arm, back plate, Fender strap and 3-way switch. The pictures speak from themselves, the condition is excellent. The frets are perfect, having just been slightly leveled during its set-up and service, as a percentage I would say they have 95% of their original life remaining in them. This one has an exceptionally good playing neck which is very comfortable. The neck pickup is very strong and thick; the perfect Hendrix pickup, the bridge pickup is bright and ideal for that classic Fender surf tone (if you're into that), the middle pickup is more quiet and gives that beautiful Hendrix out-of-phase tone in positions 2 and 5 while working together with the neck and bridge pickups respectively. Checked intensively under a UV black light, I've included photos below, the finish is all original on the body and neck. The Lake Placid Blue is over a silver base-coat shot over sunburst which was normal both in the 60's and also the Fullerton era. The serial number is your usual V01XXXX, 1982 pencil neck date, the usual 'R' pencil inspection signature in the neck cavity, R137 pots dated to 1982 and the usual orange cap. I have not included photos of the insides showing the dates etc. as it has just been set-up. If the buyer wants, I'll happily do so post sale, but bare in mind that the Strat would probably need setting up once again. Cash on collection is preferred. The price is relatively firm and fair, book price is $3500 but I've seen many sell for way higher! I just sold a rough but original condition 1983 Candy Apple Red Stratocaster for £2700 all-in, so in comparison this one is miles ahead on the collectible scale yet priced not too far away from a player grade Fullerton. I listen to all offers but low-ball offers obviously get ignored. Advertised elsewhere so serious interest should be acted upon.I ship using TNT only which must be fully insured. You're welcome to arrange your own postage, I'll happily pack it up for a small cost, but payment must be by bank transfer if you choose this option.
