This auction is for a 9 keyed Ophicleide in Bb from ca. 1840-1850.
Its height is ca. 115cm. It doesn't come with a mouthpiece.
We offer the instrument for parts or not working, although we have used it in the past for concerts and recordings. The reason being that it needs an overhaul.
There have been alterations and extensions to some of the keys (see photos). There is a dent in the bow at the lower end.Due to the size and nature of the instrument we'd suggest collection in person but will ship if desired which will come at some expense.
