Please welcome the Jackson Custom shop Jackson Doom Soloists, masterbuilt by Mike Shannon. The idea behind these originally was born from one of our favorite instruments, the Fender Bass VI. We thought, the Bass VI would be a perfect starting point for more than likely the heaviest sounding guitar ever created, and that was the point of these Custom Shop Jacksons. The main features of these start with a 30 inch scale neck, never before done on a Jackson, with the same thick set of strings that the Bass VI would use, “24-84 guage.” Alder Soloist body, a sleek ebony board with no inlays, EMG 81 and 85 pickups with brush metal covers for the tightest distortion, choices between a Gotoh hardtail bridge, or a String through Tune-O-Matic bridge, Black binding, Super Jumbo Stainless frets, and a few paint job finishes to give it that final touch.
