Wheatstone 48 button rosewood concertina in it's original leather box.Wheatstone label set into a panel in the rosewood fretwork on one side and the serial number 20377 printed into the cloth on the other side. This serial number is listed in the Wheatstone record ledger book number C1054 for the date May 5th 1885. This can be checked at concertina.com/ledgers/indexes/c1054-serials.htm In good working order and sounds really good, not that I know how to play it but even to my ears it sounds smooth. It measures 6 1/4 inches 15.8 cm across the face, flat side to flat side.48 metal buttons, 24 to each side that all move freely. No splits or holes in the bellows. The leather straps are worn with age and use but in good order and have no damage.Minor lacquer loss on the rosewood but again age and use, no damage, lost sections or cracks. Still in it's original box which is leather. This is in good order, the clasp works but it does have a couple of splits and the handle is missing.Has a piece of paper with it that shows the key notes, I also informed by a kind ebay user that this would indicate that it's a high pitch concertina.I'm not an expert on these but will try to answer any questions you may have. Our contact details are below and in our seller details within this listing.Due to value we are only prepared to ship insured with UPS to ensure it arrives quickly and safely. In the UK we are happy if you'd rather collect personally.Shires Antiques01788 510315
