For sale is a great little semi hollowed body guitar from Gibson. This model, the Blueshawk, was designed in the 90's and targeted more towards the modern blues guitarist of the era. With a few distinctive features that set it apart from nearly all Gibsons, such as a 25.5" scale length, string through body and bridge setup, Blues 90 pickups (superficially resembling a P-90 pickup, but structurally more like a noise canceling Fender pickup), and a varitone circuit. With a poplar body capped with maple, this is a very light guitar weighing in at 6 lbs 2 oz. Tonally this instrument is creamy and sweet, with a nice round and robust bottom end. When hit with some overdrive or distortion is really sings, adding a lot of depth and complexity while still maintaining it's buttery nature. The varitone switch gives you a variety of tonal options, with 5 switchable preset EQ "scoops" you can experiment even further past the simple control layout of this guitar. Cosmetically in great condition, there is some swirling in the finish along the top and buckle rash on the back as well as a few little dings and scratches here and there. Along the side to the top of the lower bout there is an indentation in the body about the length and half the width of a penny. Included with this guitar is a nice hardshell case. This is a fantastic instrument from Gibson that marries some more typical Fender appointments into a versatile and powerful guitar, that while perfect for blues, fills an immense range of tonalities and styles.
