For sale is a great electric guitar from the folks at Fender. This model, the Prodigy II, was manufactured from 1991-93 as an attempt to compete with brands like Ibanez, Yamaha, Charvel and Jackson who were producing superstrat style guitars in the era. The body shape is similar to that of the Stratocaster however it features an offset body, sharper body edges, and a smaller headstock and is set up in a "fat strat" styling with two single coil pickups and one humbucker in the bridge. It also includes a Kahler locking tremolo and nut, allowing for extreme manipulation of the pitch in the way of dive bombs and such tricks that were popular of the time. Tonally this guitar is very sweet and incredibly lively, with chimey clean tones that run the gamut from ruddy lows to shimmering highs. This guitar really grinds when played with some overdrive or distortion, with excellent note bloom and harmonic overtones galore. Cosmetically in great condition for it's age, there are a few small nicks and scratches, pick scratching on the pickguard, a small crack on the guard by the input jack as well as a bit of buckle rash. If you're on the lookout for a slightly more sophisticated superstrat style guitar than this is truly the one for you.
