Description FROM MY GUITAR ART COLLECTION:In the past, I have organized my guitar collection by Brand, Model, Year, and Color. But the more I looked at them, that division seemed just too pragmatic and eclectic as to the style and personality of the pieces. So now I have created smaller collections focusing on their consonance of function, form, and appearance. Most dramatically different among these divergent groups is what I proclaim to be the “ART COLLECTION”. Its tenancy contains the enigmatic, the eclectic, and the always popular “oddity”. I look forward to sharing this collection with those who play art and those who pay for art. For your review and consideration I present…. THE ELEGANTLY SCUPLTURED W.E.B. GUITAR Hand sculpted by: William (Bill) Berry ONE OF A KIND. DESIGN BY IMAGINATION. SCULPTED BY HAND. This piece, the “W.E.B.”, is one that I cannot look at briefly nor lackadaisically. It is a rare guitar that must be alluded to as “performance art” due to its beauty of form and structure and its construction content of beautiful walnut and maple woods all combined to produce a guitar that is playable and capable of producing incredible tones. Its form is based in the use of a “2 Piece” Birch neck that extends through the entire body of the guitar, otherwise known as “neck-through”. Many luthiers this method adds to the sustain of the guitar. The neck has two highly figured BLACK WALNUT “wings” attached to form the “body” of the guitar. This body wood is dazzling and beautiful. The headstock is made of beautiful CHERRY wood. The Fretboard is Indian Rosewood and has 21 frets installed (small) and the scale is 25”. Fingerboard has 12 degrees radius. Has a single dual action truss rod. Tuners are Schaller Vintage scallops in chrome. The headstock has been designed for straight string pull through the nut slots to minimize “tuning friction”. Also has chrome Schaller strap lock bottoms. Sound production is extremely strong and varied based on the use of dual BILL LAWRENCE stacked humbuckers in single coil size. Additionally it features a FISHMAN “PRO-TEL POWERBRIDGE” ACTIVE TRANSDUCER BRIDGE SYSTEM with stereo autosensing “Smart Jack” which allows you to play in stereo simply by the use of a stereo cord (“plug and play”). Due to the flowing sculpted lines of the guitar, the color varies as the light hits it. In natural and fluorescent light the walnut wings appear darker and richer while in other light they have a warmer brown hue and tone. The exclusive engraved nameplate is attached at the end of the fretboard. We are currently working on a book featuring guitars in my collection and this one will be included.
