R8 Gibson Les Paul, 1997, stunning!
R8 guitars made in the late 90's have become something of a legend.
This is a particularly nice example, with the most beautiful lemon burst top and flame. I contacted Gibson to get more info on this guitar. Their comments are as follows: 'The pictures and serial number are consistent with a 1997 Gibson Custom Shop 1958 Les Paul Figuredtop Reissue in Butterscotch finish and nickel hardware. I have attached information on the model for your viewing'
The cover on the back is signed for the previous owner, a radio presenter named James, by Joe Bonamassa, although you'll see from the picture the signature is barely visible.
It has been played but very well looked after, with some very minor marks but no major or visible dings. Serial # 8 7772 - 100% original in excellent condition. You will be unlikely to find another 1997 58 with a top like this. The guitar weighs in at about 9lbs 6ozs and has a nice comfortable 58 neck profile. Comes with a hardshell case which is pictured and may be original to the guitar. No dings or nicks to mention but light surface scratches from guitar being played but well taken care of. This is a very nice guitar and the lucky winner will be delighted with it. Bid with confidence as I have sold many guitars so rest assured that this guitar will be packed and shipped professionally.
