RELISTED AT A LOWER START AND AT THAT PRICE IT REALLY SHOULD BE WORTH IT TO SOMEONE! This is a 1971 Guild X-500. I got it pretty much as you see it here, missing the pickups (still has the wiring harness), bridge, nut, pick guard, bracket, tailpiece, and knobs. The only modification I can see is a hole from an added strap button on the side above where neck joins the body, and currently has gold Grovers but the holes from the original Guild Schallers are present. Frets may previously have been leveled. Neck is MOSTLY straight but with two problems that I can see: the fingerboard extension goes downward (I have a picture of that with the StewMac fretboard level). Also, the first fret is slightly lower than the 2nd fret when checked with a StewMac fret rocker, so either there is a slight backbow at the first or else it is a leveling issue, either way it will either need to be addressed or possibly string tension might fix that but I don't know. This is being sold AS IS with the understanding that some work will be needed to get it going and I can't be sure there is some other problems without putting strings on it and that's not possible with the missing parts. Some finish wear at the back of the neck, some chips where the neck joins the body. There's some checking, and if you look on the back of the headstock there is one darker line that looks like a crack but is just a flaw in the wood. There is a plain truss rod cover that I added from my parts drawer which has the correct shape. Overall it is a very attractive guitar. Original case is included but missing the Guild logo and has a replaced handle. The wiring harness is present but the nuts are not there; I didn't put it back in place since whoever buys this will just have to take it out anyway. The label is intact. Shipping will be by Fedex in the CONUS; elsewhere at priority mail rate, and due to the size there may be some countries where shipping will not be practical so contact if you have a concern.. Thanks for looking, and keep checking my other auctions for more guitar stuff! A 1950s Aristocrat in project state may be coming up soon! I do have some other Guild parts that will be listing in the next couple of weeks, some of which would work on this guitar but not all.
