This is a BEAUTIFUL Conn cornet! Serial #146240, this New Wonder is 100 years old, making it an antique!
It has dual transposing slides.
It has been recently cleaned (professionally). It has a new ferrule, which was custom fit to the guard foot, as the original one was split in half.
The repair person feels that this is a brass cornet with a heavy silver plating, because it heated up very quickly and was much more hot than usual when she was soldering the new ferrule in place.
The middle button was missing, and has been replaced. There is another button in the box, but it does not fit this cornet.
There is an HN White 41 mouthpiece with this instrument.
All original parts and accessories!!! The slides that are in the cornet are not marked, but the "extras" are marked "LP" (low pitch). It plays in the key of C (high pitch slides) and B-flat (low pitch slides). The bores measure .470 on the main tuning slide.
Feel free to e-mail me with questions.
Proceeds from the sale of this coronet will go to Rikki's Refuge Animal Sanctuary.
